Dear Mr. Yakobson:

Morton Benson

My colleagues and I would like to invite you to give a series of five lectures on Russian poetry at the University of Pennsylvania. Students and instructors from other colleges and universities in the Philadelphia area would also have the opportunity of attending your lectures.

If you can accept this invitation, we would provide funds for your transportation from the Soviet Union and back as well as for your living expenses. An honorarium would be paid for each lecture.

A copy of the letter sent to Academician Keldysh, President of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, concerning this invitation is enclosed.

We look forward to hearing from you. With the best personal wishes, I remain,

Sincerely Yours,

Morton Benson
Chairman
