Michael Yakhilevich was born in 1956 in Moscow, USSR. Graduated from Stage Design Department of Moscow Artistic Theater Institute in (1979). Member of USSR Artists Union (1983). Repatriated to Israel in 1990. Member of Israeli Artists Union (1991).

Michael Yakhilevich:

"Some people say, "There is no art any more. Only artists still remain." Indeed, we remain so far and are still concerned with painting, this almost neglected kind of art. We still try to speak this almost forgotten language of plastic, since we are unable to speak any other language. But if we succeed in saying something deep, innermost, cherished - it can signify the resurrection of art."
